Australian Tartans

Our tartan is a pure worsted woven fabric, available in commercial weights of 7oz (light), 13oz (medium), and 16+oz (heavy weight). It is recognized worldwide as a national dress product based on the clan system of identification, using distinctive patterns and colors.

Tartans carry significant symbolic family meaning or lineage for descendants of Celtic nations such as Scotland and Ireland, and are milled/manufactured within the United Kingdom. Tartan is in itself a signature of who you are, though in the modern world it is now seen by many as a fashion statement.

All registered tartans are recorded in history and preserved in the Scottish Register of Tartans archives for future reference.
